Jen Krempien was honoured as the flag bearer for Team Canada at the ParaPanAmerican Earlier in the year the St. Albert wheelchair basketball player was named the most valuable player at the inaugural Friendship Games Osaka Cup in Japan. Krempien, 32, is a national team veteran of three Paralympic gold medals and four Gold Cup world championships. The all-star guard at the 1998 and 2002 Gold Cups made her international debut at the 1992 Paralympics in Barcelona as a 17-year-old fresh out of Paul Kane High School. She plans to retire after the 2008 Paralympic Games in China.
